 RUTHILD TILLMAN
SAND ARTIST - GERMANY

ARTIST STATEMENT

ART is für me to FIND things " not to search for" as Picasso says.
I have my eyes wide open, when I walk through nature. While looking to the ground I
find the donations of Mother Earth just in front of
my feet. Thankfully I lift them up,
take them home, play a little while with them and then I arrange them in a different
way they were before.         In this way I change them to be part of my artwork.
As I think a reduction to the essentials is very important,
I have decided to use only

SAND & STONES

Which I get from all over the world, sometimes from friends, too.
In this way I feel myself as a "Global Player" on Arts, focussing on natural materials.
While collecting the bending down for me also is a sign ofrespect to honour Mother
Earth, who really gives me all I just need.
In my sand pictures I mostly use Symbols and signs (seidom landscapes and faces) to
express the things I want to say in a reduced way, telling something about my own
part between heaven and earth, always connected to the infinite source which keeps
me and the whole worid going.
